If you only had one spice to take with you on a deserted island, what would it be?
Because of its versatility, mine would be Herbes de Provence. You can use this spice with breakfast eggs, grilled or braised meats, your favorite cocktails, or even as a facial steam. My lavender bushes were really hardy this year; I should have enough to last me for many months to come!
Recipe for Herbes de Provence
*I go heavy on the lavender. You can always adjust the amount to your preference.
4 tablespoons dried thyme
3 tablespoons dried savory
3 tablespoons dried lavender flowers
1 tablespoon dried marjoram
